DAILY PRAYER POINTS

“Your kingdom come, your will be done.” (Matthew 6:10)

Monday, January 6 – God, reign in my heart.

"Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin... Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you." (Psalm 51:1–2, 10–12, NLT)

Prayer Points:

  • Acknowledge to God any areas of unconfessed sin in your life.

  • Thank God for the forgiveness that is yours through the work of Christ in your place.

  • Ask God to renew you by the Holy Spirit and strengthen you to pursue Christlikeness.

  • Commit to take action in pursuit of holiness and righteousness.

Tuesday, January 7 – God, reign in my relationships.

"For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another... But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there." (Galatians 5:14–15, 22–24, NLT)

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for the people in your life who challenge you. Ask God to give you love and patience for them.

  • Think about moments when you are tempted to lash out or harbor bitterness. Ask God to help you in those moments today.

  • Pray for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit to bear the fruit of the Spirit in your relationships.

  • Consider ways you could proactively encourage people around you today.

Wednesday, January 8 – God, reign in my community.

"Dear friends, I warn you as 'temporary residents and foreigners' to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world." (1 Peter 2:11–12, NLT)

Prayer Points:

  • Identify any desires that hinder your witness in the community and ask God for help.

  • Pray for your neighbors by name.

  • Pray for community workers such as teachers, coaches, and first responders.

  • Encourage someone who embodies godly conduct in the community.

Thursday, January 9 – God, reign in our nation.

"I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth." (1 Timothy 2:1–4, NLT)

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for our national and local leaders by name.

  • Ask God to help Christians live "godly and dignified" lives through challenging times.

  • Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit across the nation, leading many to salvation.

Friday, January 10 – God, reign in the world.

"Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods." (Psalm 96:3–4, NLT)

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for our missions partners spreading the gospel around the world.

  • Pray for persecuted Christians to have strength, hope, and courage.

  • Ask God to provide for the needs of persecuted believers and to enable them to share the Gospel boldly.

Saturday, January 11 – God, reign in my church.

"Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11–13, NLT)

Prayer Points:

  • Pray that our church would be a place where people: 1) speak the truth in love, 2) grow in Christ, and 3) do the part God has called them to do.

  • Pray for unity, growth, and love in the church.

  • Pray for church leaders, ministry team leaders, and life group leaders.

  • Ask God to show you how you can contribute to the church's ministry and take steps to fulfill that calling.
