Worship Ministry Application

The Worship Team Member will assist in cultivating a Spirit-filled and Spirit-led worship environment for worship services at Journey Church.

The Worship Team Member is accountable to the Worship Ministry Director and ultimately to the Lead Pastor.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

-Be supportive of the Worship Team Leader by following his/her lead during worship.

-Practice and learn songs separate of Worship Team rehearsals.

-Respond promptly (within 24 hours) to communication requests: Planning Center, calls/texts/emails, etc.

-Be available for both services on the Sunday you are requested to serve. This includes attending the mid-week rehearsal (required for service participation), and the Sunday morning rehearsal (required for service participation).

-Be prepared for all rehearsals: Arrive early. Have appropriate music printed, or available on MusicStand app. Have appropriate equipment ready (instruments, in-ears).

-Dress Appropriately for worship services: Pants or jeans (without rips or tears) and nice shirts/t-shirts. (For women: capris, skirts & dresses (at least to the knee).

-On-time arrival and preparedness is required in order to participate on the Worship Team.

-Engage in annual self-assessment process.

-Participate in special services/events as they occur if availability allows.

Position Qualifications:

-Will have been in regular attendance at Journey Church for at least 6 months prior to being considered to be part of this team.

-Have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior.

-Be committed to continual spiritual growth.

-Have a heart to serve God’s people rather than to display personal talent.

-Have a willingness to grow and to be led by the leadership of the church, including the Worship Ministry Director.
